FACTORS RELATED TO THE INCIDENCE OF ASPHYCIA IN NEW BORN INFANTS AT RSUD SUBULUSSALAM CITY

Asphyxia in newborns is a condition where the baby cannot breathe spontaneously and regularly immediately after birth. Data from Subulussalam City Hospital 2021 there are 19 cases of newborn deaths with 8 asphyxia. The purpose this study was to analyze factors associated incidence asphyxia at Hospital. In using type quantitative research cross sectional design. location carried out Hospital, be precise, perinatology room. This January-November 2022. sample 34 respondents total sampling technique. types data used primary secondary data. results showed that asphyxia, p=0.006 for maternal age, p=0.015 gestational p=0.039 normal weight, p=0.063 infant condition, p value <0.05) meaning relationship between birth weight conclusion it can concluded p-value <0.05 has significant which been tested based on chi square test SPSS analysis. It recommended necessary increase socialization by health workers mothers regarding diseases complications arise during pregnancy, childbirth postpartum as preventive measure against occurrence newborns.
